Battery life seem a little short on you smartphone? Here is one tip to help save battery life.

Many apps keep running in the background even when they are not open. This is a good thing for receiving email, social media posts, reminders, etc., when you want to be notified as soon as possible. But there are other apps the run in the background taking up battery life you simply do not need.

To prevent useless apps running in the background:

iOS – go to Settings/General/Background App Refresh. From there you can choose which apps are allowed to run in the background. We suggest turning off all apps that do not provide essential notifications.

Android – go to Settings/Data Usage. Tap on the app you want to restrict from running in the background then scroll to the bottom to restrict background data on cellular networks. Using this function can also save you on unwanted data charges.
